At least seven Taliban were killed and three others wounded in NATO-led drone strikes in Afghanistan’s eastern Nangarhar province, said officials.

The provincial governor’s spokesman, Attaullah Khogyani, told media that two air strikes were carried out in the Lalpura district of Nangarhar, killing at least seven rebels and injuring three others. The strikes carried in Rahmati and Marsing areas of Lalpura district destroyed a car, a bike and other equipment belonging to the rebels, said the spokesperson. He claimed that the rebels belonged to ‘Tehreek e Taliban.’

The strikes came a day after at least four fighters belonging to the so-called Islamic State were killed in a foreign troops’ drone strike in Kot district of Nangarhar province. US and foreign forces have intensified their air strikes across Afghanistan for supporting Afghan security forces to regain control in the country.
