Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced plans to build the first government cancer hospital near Valencia Town in Lahore.
The chief minister examined the potential site for the hospital. She was also given a briefing regarding the hospital on the site. The CM also authorised the construction of a hotel for the attendants of cancer patients.
Maryam also said that the cancer hospital would provide free treatment to all the patients.
She announced that the world's top cancer specialists would be called in for the hospital. For the cancer hospital's patient care, the government will provide the greatest medical professionals and state-of-the-art equipment.
She also declared that screening for diseases will be started in the province, adding that when she vacated her office after five years, she wanted a state-of-the-art hospital in every city. She also announced free medicines in all emergency departments of government hospitals from today. The Rescue 1122 service has been asked to launch a motorway ambulance service.
