Chief Minister of Sindh Murad Ali Shah and opposition leader Rana Ansar have reached a consensus over Justice (retd) Maqbool Baqar as the caretaker CM in Sindh.
Justice Maqbool Baqar is a retired judge of the Supreme Court of Pakistan. Baqar is expected to take oath as the caretaker CM today, they added.
Earlier, Rana reached the chief minister’s house in Karachi to hold a discussion with CM Murad for the caretaker setup. The consensus was reached during the meeting. He will be the eighth caretaker chief minister of Sindh.
An oath taking ceremony is expected to be organised in the governor house on Tuesday.

Justice (r) Maqbool Baqir was born on April 5, 1957.
He completed him LLB from Karachi University and started his career as a lawyer in Karachi in 1981.
In August 2002, he became an additional judge in the Sindh High Court and became a permanent judge a year later.
He became the chief justice of the Sindh High Court in September 2013 and was elevated to the Supreme Court February 2015. He retired from the Supreme Court in 2022.
