Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz leader Maryam Nawaz departed for London early on Thursday to meet her father, who is set to return to Pakistan next month.
Reports said that Shehbaz Sharif, who returned to Pakistan on Tuesday after almost a month, is also expected to depart for London later on Thursday. Shehbaz’s departure within 48 hours of his arrival has led to speculation that all might not be well.
The departures come after Maryam and Shahbaz reportedly met on Wednesday night to discuss important political matters including Nawaz’s return to Pakistan.
The two are expected to apprise Nawaz on the latest political developments, including reopening of NAB cases in light of a recent Supreme Court judgement.
Sources said that the two leaders could relay an ‘important message’ to Nawaz.
Nawaz has been in exile in London since 2019 since he was released from jail and allowed to travel abroad on medical grounds.
