Muttehda Qaumi Movement (MQM) rebuffing allegations leveled on its nominated mayor Waseem Akhter termed it a planned conspiracy hatched against MQM to damage its image and decided to maintained nomination of Waseem Akhter as Karachi Mayor.
Addressing to a press conference at Khursheed Bagum Secretariat, MQM Coordination Committee deputy convener Kanwar Naveed Jameel terming the allegations against Waseem Akhter was a conspiracy hatched to deface MQM said that the news aired on media were baseless and concocted while Waseem Akhter was advisor to home minister at the time of May 12 tragedy.
” The report prepared regarding May 12 tragedy is fake pertaining baseless allegations as the commission set up to probe incident had not nominated any MQM worker or leader while supreme court also had not mentioned any leader of MQM involvement in Karachi unrest case, therefore the propaganda against MQM should be stopped,” he said.
Earlier, in the joint meeting of MQM Rabita Committee London and Pakistan categorically denounced the allegations leveled on Waseem Akhter and endorsed Waseem Akhter’s nomination as Karachi mayor.
