Investigative agencies have obtained CCTV footages from different cameras installed in Liaquatabad after world famous Qawwal Amjad Sabri was gunned down while a case has been lodged against unidentified miscreants, reported Friday.

One of the CCTV footages shows two suspects atop a motorcycle with one sporting a shirt, pants and a cap and the pillion rider can be seen wearing shalwar kameez, a rather traditional attire.

The suspects took a turn to Hassan Square after the attack.

Another motorcycle can be seen in the footage that was at around 100 metres distance from the attack site.

On the other hand, case has been registered in Sharifabad Police Station on behalf of late sabri’s brother and it includes anti-terrorism sections.

Additional Inspector General has formed another investigation team which will be led by Deputy Inspector General West Zulfiqar Larik.

Meanwhile, after police released a sketch of one of the suspects on Thursday, Hameeda Begum, a resident of Clifton filed a petition in Sindh High Court stating that the sketch resembled her son who went missing in 2014 and she feared that police would accuse him of being involved in terror attacks which they have.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has announced compensation money of Rs 10 million for the survivors of late Sabri.

Sabri was gunned down at around 4:00pm in Karachi as he was travelling to a private television channel’s studio from his house to take part in a Ramazan transmission.

His aide who was injured in the gun attack recorded his statement to security agencies yesterday and stated that Sabri pleaded he had young children but attackers had not come to spare his life.

Sabri along with other members of his family had introduced Qawwali to the West in 1970s and he was adored both nationally and internationally for his contribution to the world of Qawwali and Sufi music.
