Teachers protest continues for third day Teachers protest continues for third day

A large number of school teachers continued their protest on the third day on Sunday against the privatization of public primary schools in Punjab.

All Asataza Alliance Punjab had given the protest call which attracted teachers from different parts of the province for a sit-in in front of Punjab Assembly on The Mall.

The sit-in started on Friday however it remained unnoticed since the nurses were already occupying the space for the last many days for their protest. The Mall especially near the Regal Chowk to Faisal Chowk has become a constant nuisance for the commuters for the last many days. The teachers’ demo too caused severe traffic mess on The Mall and many adjacent roads on Saturday(second day).

The schoolteachers led by All Asataza Alliance Punjab (all teachers’ alliance) leadership including Sufi Ramzan Inqalabi strongly criticized the provincial government for handing over public primary schools to private sector under its Public School Support Program (PSSP).
